Sweet 16

Dino Day
Thank you to Aunty Kristie for getting us in to see the dinosaurs. Lexie had a fun day with her 3 best buddies.

At first, Lexie was afraid of the dinosaurs. They were pretty life-like when they roared and moved. They didn't look anything like those cute ones we see on Dinosaur Train. By the end of the day, she was roaring back at them and wanted to give each one a pet on the head.

Lexie liked digging for dinosaur fossils. And then she thought it was funny to scoop the sand and put it down mommy's shirt.

Future Paleontologists - maybe they will create a new Jurassic Park!

Look, that's confuciousnoris from Dinosaur Train.

I wish this snail would move.

Let's go inside the volcano.

Come on Lexie, follow me!

I want to ride the snail. I don't want to be one!

I don't know which animals are good or bad. I just like sticking them to this wall.

Okay, enough with the pictures, I want to go back to sticking animals to the wall.

Weird and interesting at the same time!

Hawaiian Monk Seal

Wow, I love all of the neon colors!

Nene Goose

Snack time!

Lexie was so cute. When we were leaving, she wanted to hold Nolan's hand. He tried to avoid her, but she grabbed on to his finger.

Nolan was such a great sport about it and he let Lexie hold onto his finger until we got out of the museum.

Summer is Here!
Our summer has officially started! Lexie was invited to her first birthday party and she had a blast.

She got to play in the kiddie pool. This was the first time she has gone in the pool since her surgery. You could tell she missed the water.

Lexie and Nolan loved splashing around the pool, especially if it meant getting their dads wet.

We finally had to take Lexie out because the water was a bit cold and this skinny minnie was starting to turn blue.

Of course, after Lexie warmed up a bit, she wanted to go back into the water.

Lexie was all smiles because it was dessert time and Aunty Kristie made a lot of yummy things to eat. She needs to open her own bakery!

The cupcakes were delicious! The cookies were fantastic! And the brownies with the chocolate chip cookies baked into them. That was ono-licious!! Lexie and I were in heaven!!

Mommy, can we go to more birthday parties?

Lexie loved looking for "moon rocks." She loved the lip gloss that was in the rocks!

And she loved the bling that she got to take home!! Lexie's favorite thing is to wear socks. She sometimes has several pairs of socks on her feet.

And of course, it's not summer without a visit to see that famous mouse. We'll be going in October, but it's not too early to start getting Lexie excited about Mickey. She has to sleep with Mickey each night and she always makes sure that Minnie is with him. If she's missing, she'll yell "Minnie, where are you?"

Lexie's BFF
One of Lexie's friends is Alia. Lexie always wants to play with her. We finally got the girls together for a little playdate.
Lexie was working on an art project before Alia came over.

These two little girls can eat. They were loving their fried chicken.

They played so nicely together. They were watching a movie while the adults had a little Xbox Kinect party.

Then Lexie decided she wanted to play some video games too. She was too cute and copied exactly what the characters on the game were doing.

I Love Being Lexie's Mommy!
I am so thankful to be Lexie's mom. She has truly become my world. The sun rises with her and her smile is like the twinkling stars at night. For me, Mother's Day is more than just that Sunday in May, but each day that I've been blessed with Lexie. Being this little girl's mommy has made my life complete. To hear "mommy" coming out of her mouth and knowing she's talking to me, is truly a dream come true.
We went to the graveyard to wish Happy Mother's Day to my grandma and my grandpa (he passed away on Mother's Day). We always have Lexie say "hello" and "I love you" to them. She usually just repeats what we say. As we were driving off in the car, she started talking in the back seat. She kept saying, "Grandpa, I love you." Which is what we told her to say, so we didn't think anything of it. Then she said, "I'm better." That kind of took us off guard. Then she said it again, so there was no question about what she said. We wonder now if she was having a conversation with my grandpa and he was asking her how she was feeling after her surgery. It kind of gave us goose bumps. We weren't scared, but it was a nice feeling to think that maybe my grandparents are really out there and watching over Lexie. We know they would have spoiled Lexie and she would have loved them so much!
It's wonderful to see my god-daughter Taryn and Lexie become such best friends

I love Lexie's goofiness.

Not something I'm looking forward to and hopefully it's way, way, way in the future! I would love to think Lexie is a brilliant speller, but as a mom, I pray that these were just random letters she put together.

Lexie can eat!! Don't worry, she only ate a few fries, but she did eat all of that apple pie. The rest was Eric's lunch. We try to limit our visits to McD's, but sometimes fries and an apple pie just hit the spot!

Our budding artist!

Lexie is finally loving her fruits! Now to get her to like veggies.

Lexie loves frozen drinks!!

Learning to save money. Never too early to start!

And Maxx is doing so much better! Thanks everyone for asking about him!

Late Easter Stuff
We celebrated Easter with Lexie's cousins. I didn't get a chance to post the pictures because of Lexie's surgery. This was her first real Easter where she got to color eggs. Lexie loved using all of the colors.

Then she used the egg spinner to color her egg.

Little Miss Independent wanted to do everything by herself.

She liked swirling the water and having it splash all over the table.

When her eggs were dry, she decorated them with stickers.

Then she wanted to dye more eggs. Any egg that Lexie could get her hands on, she put them into a cup of dye. Some cups were overflowing with eggs.

Lexie liked the yellow the best! She always asks for yellow eggs.

Then it was time for the egg hunt. Lexie got to go first because she was the youngest. She took a long time to pick up any eggs.

Everytime she found an egg, she had to shake it and open it. And then she wanted to play with the money that was inside.

And Lexie was very picky about which eggs she took. She would walk by eggs until she found an egg that was the color that she liked and then she would pick it up.

In the end, she collected 13 eggs. Lexie found the golden egg with Aunty Terry's help.

If Lexie only had one egg, she would have been happy. She still doesn't understand the goal is to find the most eggs. But the main thing is that she had fun!

Yum!! This frosting tastes delicious.

Oh, I'm supposed to put it on my cake, not eat it!

I'll take some sprinkles.

Most of the time was spent eating M&M's. She ate more candy than she actually put on her cake.

I'm full now! I'll save my cake for later.

Lexie got a present from Nana. She got it a few days before Easter and even though I had it on a table, Lexie would get it down and kept asking to open it.

She got her favorite kimi balls and some stuffed animals. She loves the bunny dog because it sings. Lexie didn't care for the marshmallow bunnies, which is quite all right with me because I love them!!

Taryn also dropped by on Easter to give Lexie this cute little bunny. It unzips into a bag.
