Wow, our sweetie pie is 18 months today! Time is flying by so fast. It has been a dream come true to watch this little lady grow each day.

Lexie is still mostly a babbler, but she can hold up her end of the conversation even though it's mostly gibberish. She will repeat some words, but it's when she feels like it. Food is definitely a great motivator to get her to say things. We're hoping that she starts speaking soon because she always has a lot to say, we just can't understand any of it!

Lexie loves to run. We walk at the mall several times a week and when we let her out of the stroller, she usually takes off running. Luckily it's carpeted because she's not always the most graceful of runners.

Lexie knows her body parts. Thanks to "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes," and she also knows where her chin, cheek and elbows are too.

Lexie is a true Pisces. She loves all things water. I'm usually soaking wet after she takes a bath. Lexie loves to float on her back and will just lie there and laugh. She doesn't care that water is going into her ears and almost touches her nose and eyes. When she's not floating, she lies on her stomach and tries to kick and blow bubbles. Then she grabs her cups and fills them up with water and throws it over her shoulders. There is water everywhere!

Even though Lexie doesn't talk, she does say "I love you." She'll cross her arms and then point at us with both of her hands. It's very cute!

Lexie is our dancing queen. She has favorite songs that she just loves to dance to. We are always baffled at what she does. We don't know where she learns her moves.

Lexie has been trying to jump for a long time and she finally figured out how to do it. She just loves being in the air even if her feet only get about an inch off the ground. She loves when we sing "Ring Around the Rosies" because she knows when to "fall" down.

Lexie's eating habits are getting better and she's always willing to try new things. She loves beef curry, chili and rice, gyoza and pico de galle. We love taking her out now because she's able to sit in her high chair for about an hour which gives us a chance to eat our meals at a leisurely pace. I also like being able to share her kiddie meals because it's sometimes better than the regular stuff on the menu.

Lexie loves Gymboree. She is such a ham! She sings and dances and is always the first to try things like walking on the log. Her balance continues to improve. She loves to sit on her ball and bounce. She kicks, catches and throws little balls. We don't have steps at our house, so Gymboree provides her lots of practice and she's getting good at going down big steps. Her favorite game is "Freeze." The children tap on the air log and when the music stops, they put their hands on their head.

Lexie is a fashionista. She loves to pick out her clothes and after we put it on her, she has to see how it looks in the mirror.

Lexie doesn't always take her 2 naps and we were warned by our doctor that this would happen. It's okay because if she does have one nap, it's usually 2-3 hours. Lexie continues to sleep well at night. Sometimes she may cry at night, but a little pat on her back usually puts her right back to sleep. Lexie is an early riser no matter what time she sleeps. She's up around 6:00, but plays with her toys until we wake up around 7:00.

Lexie hates when we wipe her face, but loves to do it by herself. She'll wipe her hands and mouth when she's done eating. When she bathes, she'll wipe her ears. She also loves to clean everything. She'll wipe her slide, the picnic table, the chair, pretty much anything that she can reach. She loves her wet wipes. If we leave it open, she will pull out as many as she can.

Lexie's bottom teeth are finally coming out. Her teeth have been so slow in making an appearance. She had these 2 little teeth on the bottom for a long time and finally she's getting 2 more. The yucky part is that when Lexie is teething, she usually gets a runny nose. So, her nose is dripping and she's drooling all over everything. Not a pretty sight!

Thank you, Lexie for another amazing month. We are constantly in awe of you and everything that you do. You are our little sunshine and you brighten our days and make our lives complete. We love you, our little boo boo girl!
What a BEAUTIFUL post!!
ReplyDeleteI just loved each detail and poured over each glorious photo and caption! You truly shared her essence and what a smart, vivacious & gorgeous little lady she is!!
Where oh where do they get those dancing moves anyways??? Certainly not from us, right?? LOL
I am smiling huge that she already enjoys a say in her wardrobe cuz our Miss was the same way!! Ty relishes peeking at himself in the mirror but could honestly care less about his clothing, except for his Elmo slippers and sun hats! Go figure! AND look out, cuz that streak of independence and fashion sense only gets more pronounced. :)
This was one of my favorite posts yet...and you know I enjoy them all!!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!!
