There were many characters roaming the restaurant. Because it was so big and crowded, not all of the characters stopped by our table. And if they did, it wasn't for very long. Lexie didn't know who Baloo was, so I guess we should watch the Jungle Book. And then she met Cinderella. There was Pluto, Chip and Dale and the Mad Hatter. They didn't have any dance numbers except when Pluto danced for a few minutes by our table. Lexie did love these character breakfasts, but the next time, we may try the Minnie or Princess one.
Then we headed to Downtown Disney, so we could take Lexie to Build-A-Bear. Before going to Taiwan, we had wanted to get Lexie a doll from there and they closed the only store in Hawaii. It was a treat to see Lexie's excitement when she walked into the store. She made a beeline for the bunny rabbit and took it off the shelf. I think she was a little confused that it was flat. She was scared at first to press the pedal to stuff her bunny, but she enjoyed recording herself singing. She chose a matching Disney outfit, some sequined shoes and rabbit feet for her new friend. We also made a teddy bear for when we get our next referral.
We did a little shopping and we couldn't believe how great Lexie was. She pointed at lots of things and took them off the shelves, but when I asked if she wanted to buy something, her answer was usually no. She finally chose a little purse and some bracelets and I got her a t-shirt to remember her time at Disneyland. We went back to the hotel to rest and Lexie fell asleep almost instantly.
We headed to Disneyland at 4:00pm for Mickey's Halloween Party. What a fun event that was! At 7:00pm, the park closed to the public and we could begin trick or treating. There were carts everywhere filled with lots of our favorites like M&Ms, but there were also healthy snacks such as raisins or apple chips.
There were character stations set up all over the park. We went on the Winnie the Pooh ride which was very cute and then we got to take a picture with Eeyore.
Tigger was also there. I loved how orange he was.
Lexie kept asking, "Where's Pooh?" She was pretty disappointed that she wasn't going to see him, but just as we were leaving, we saw Pooh. Lexie began to do her happy dance. She was so excited and gave him a huge hug.
There was fog along the water, which made it look like a ghost ship was sailing in. We also rode on the Jungle Cruise. It was a lot shorter than I remembered it. The animals were exactly the same and the guide still shoots at the hippo. Lexie and I both jumped when the piranha jumped out of the water.
Lexie got to see Minnie, even though at first Daddy thought it was sorcerer Mickey. I don't think Mickey has eyelashes and wears eye shadow.
Lexie met Jesse. She has seen Toy Story, but I don't think she remembers her from the movie.
They have a special Halloween fireworks show. The neatest part is when Zero from the Nightmare Before Christmas flies over the castle. Lexie didn't like the fireworks and fell asleep, but Disney definitely knows how to put on a show. We ended up leaving shortly after that.
As we were heading out, we met Duffy the Bear. He's a teddy bear that belongs to Mickey and you can purchase different types of clothes for him that show where he has travelled to.
We were so happy that we could go to this special event. There were lots of villains walking around but we missed seeing Buzz and Phineas and Ferb. Some of the rides like the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain were transformed into spooky Halloween rides. All of the children were dressed up in their costumes. This is something we would want to do again.
