A lot of things have changed since we adopted Lexie. We still have to fill out an I-600A which is approval to bring a foreign child into the United States. The last time we did that, we could make an appointment with the USCIS online. Then we went down to their office to file the paperwork and we were also able to get fingerprinted at the same time. Now, we have to fill out the application and mail our home study and fees to Texas and wait for them to assign us a date for our fingerprinting. This could take up to 2 months.
We were very fortunate with Lexie's adoption. We got her referral within 6 months and the court process took another 6 months. It was such a wonderful experience and we're hoping this second time around is smooth sailing also.
Lexie is ready to be a big sister!! Maxx, on the other hand, might not be ready for another munchkin driving him crazy!
Yay to another step done! What a crazy roller coaster adoption is, but every hill leads to that next woosh of getting closer to baby 2!
