Lunar New Year Picnic

We went to our agency's Lunar New Year Picnic. It's a little get together for families who have adopted their babies from China and Taiwan. We were worried about the weather since it's been rainy and cold the past few days, but we couldn't have asked for a more perfect sunny day. There were lots of arts & crafts for the kids to make and games for them to play. Some were a little too hard for our munchkin, so we just did a few, well, I did most of the work, like making this bracelet for Lexie.

Then we colored or tried to anyways. Lexie was more interested in eating the crayons.

She loved this year of the tiger fan. Lexie loves it when you fan her face and the wind blows on her.

The 2010 Narcissus Court was there. When I asked to take a picture with them, they grabbed Lexie and were just doting on her. She was loving the attention. We asked her if she wanted to be a Narcissus Queen when she grew up and she started smiling and bouncing around, so I guess the answer is YES!

There was a lion dance to end the celebration. It was pretty loud. Lexie jumped a little, but she was so fascinated with the lions and couldn't take her eyes off them.

Since the day was sunny, we walked down to the beach. This was Lexie's first experience with sand. She loved touching it with her fingers and then she put her feet in it. I guess we're going to have to start bringing her to the beach. And that's not going to be very much fun for me since I hate sand.

Lexie loved the sand and we were so happy that she didn't put the sand in her mouth. Well, this time anyway!

Eric took her down to the water. She liked putting her feet in the water and wanted to sit in it.

Our cutie pie!

Mmmm, this candy is delicious.....hope no one catches me!
