Lexie started swim classes this summer. Thanks to Aunty Tiffany, we found a wonderful swim school that we absolutely love. Lexie goes twice a week, the pool is heated and there's only 4 children in her class with 2 instructors. The best part of all is that we don't have to go in the pool with her!
The first time we put her in the pool, she made her body stiff as a board and Eric had to emerge her into the water. Her face was so pouty for about 5 minutes, then she realized, I love the water! Lexie loves Uncle Zach and she knows that she's on the orange team. Also, being the only girl in the group has it's advantages. Uncle Zach always gives Lexie a little more attention!
They play ring around the rosies and the object is to go underwater when they sing "we all fall down." Well, no one is going to trick Lexie into going underwater. She's usually the only one standing at the end of the song.
They play different games with the rings. Uncle Zach always gives Lexie the pink one. They pretend they are driving a car as they jump across the pool, then they put their head in the rings and blow bubbles in the water to sound like car engines.
Lexie has gotten better at this. In the beginning, she would hop around in the water and was usually the last to get across the pool. She's gotten faster and every so often will remember to blow some bubbles.
We are just in stitches watching Lexie in the pool. The funniest part is that her tongue is always sticking out!
Her head is usually the driest of the group. They try to get her to squat down in the water when she jumps, but she doesn't fall for that trick. She'll jump, stop before her head goes in the water, then bend forward to dip her face so delicately in the water. You're not getting this girl's hair wet!

There's that tongue action! Uncle Zach had them float around on barbells and took them on a tour of the pool. They practiced kicking and blowing bubbles.
During the lesson, Lexie is all smiles! She is always asking me if we're going to the pool. I'm so happy that Lexie loves swim classes!
