Our Last Adventure......

Today was our last day as a couple and we made sure we did everything we could. We got up early to eat breakfast. The Agora has a huge selection. There was your usual breakfast fare and then there was steamed buns and pork hash. Eric was thrilled that he got to have fresh saimin for breakfast. He said tomorrow he'll eat at least 2 bowls.



We were picked up for our tour at 8:30am and headed out to Keelung. We went to the top of Keelung to get a view of the harbor and there were these gigantic statues. It rained a little while we were there.



Then, we headed to Yehliu Park. It was very crowded and luckily it didn't rain hard until we left. We visited the street vendors that were there. They were selling huge piles of cuttle fish and dried fish. We sampled a lot, but it's too bad we can't bring them through customs. They were delicious.



We saw the famous queen's head. There was a rock formation that looked like Taiwan, a husband and wife, and a cute one looked like Snoopy giving someone a kiss.



For lunch, we walked to the Mitsukoshi building. That department store was huge and there is also a mall with lots of stores. We were going to eat at the food court, but it was really busy and nowhere to sit, so we ended up at Gordon Biersch.

We met Gina's son and he showed us how to catch the MRT, which is Taiwan's underground subway. It was neat how the entry gate scans your token and then when you leave, you have to insert it into the gate. We went to the Jade Market and then to look at electronics. Then, Eric heard that there was a camera show, so of course, we had to go there. He was in heaven and he wanted to buy everything in sight, until he realized how expensive it was!



We met up with Gina and her husband and they took us to the night market. It was very interesting looking at all of the foods and trying to bargain with the vendors. The smells made me a little nauseous, but we tried barbeque corn, steak, pineapple shrimp and salty fried crabs. Eric found some comfort food -- koge musubis and you can choose what you want inside of it, so he put salmon.



We are exhausted, but we still need to get ready for our Gotcha Day with Lexie. We're amazingly calm. Our gifts are packed and I'm trying to figure out what to bring for her because tomorrow's weather is supposed to be cold, so I want to make sure I have some warm clothes and a blanket because we're going shopping after we pick her up.

We know that our lives will change once Lexie enters our lives, but we are looking forward to having this little girl for the rest of our lives. We fell in love with her from the moment we saw her picture and it has been an agonizing 7 months waiting to bring her home. We didn't know how easy it was to love someone we had never met. Even though she is not a part of Eric or me, she has become a big part of our hearts and it's as though we had conceived her. We cannot wait for our day to become a family!
