I love my yard!

Whenever we have time and weather permitting, we're outside in the yard. Some days even though the sun is out, it can get a little chilly, so we have to make sure that Lexie stays warm. This was an outfit that grandpa sent her. She finally got to wear it. It was a bit on the big side.

"I love to run away from mom and dad."

"Maxx is my best friend. I like when he runs with me."

Maxx loves the yard just as much as Lexie. He loves to play ball in the house, so now we're trying to get him to play ball outside. He's getting the hang of it.

In the past, we would leave Gohan in the house when we took Maxx out and we would hear him crying in the house. Now that he can go outside anytime he wants to, he's decided that he rather stay in the house. Many times we have to carry him outside because he refuses to come to the door when we call him. He's a strange little guy!

Lexie loves to find things on the ground. She has amazing eyesight. She finds the smallest little speck and sometimes she will give it to us, but most times, she will run away with it.

She likes to examine what she's found. Sometimes she'll just carry it around with her. Other times, she'll taste it. She's usually very quiet when she finds something so that we don't take it away from her.

We can't believe how long it took us to finally have Lexie in our lives. Now that she's part of our family, the days just go by so fast. We cherish each day we have with her and always let her know that we love her. And how can you not love this cutie pie!

1st Pony Ride

Everyone has been telling me that I need to start putting Lexie on waiting lists for the preschools that I want to send her to. I thought I was done with all of the paperwork that came with adoption, now I have to fill out applications for preschools that she won't go to for another 2-3 years.

There's a preschool in our neighborhood that I may be interested in sending her to. I thought it was cute that she would be in the "lovebugs" group. They had a keiki carnival, so we decided to take a look at their facilities and see if this is where we would want her first school experience to be.

Everyone there was very friendly and we'll go by during the summer to visit the actual classrooms. While we were there, Lexie rode a pony for the first time.

She wasn't too thrilled to be on it. Lexie didn't cry, but she didn't want to hold on to the saddle either, so I had to hold her up while the pony walked around. It was a pretty bumpy ride and she kept sliding from side to side.

Lexie was glad when it was over. The owner even brought the pony over for her to pet and she couldn't get away fast enough.

Lexie plays so hard at Gymboree. When she comes home, she's exhausted.

Relaxing in the back yard with dad.

Lexie loves to put everything in her mouth. She decided that this ladybug was pretty tasty.

There are bubbles in the air!

Lexie loves bubbles.

We bought this little bubble machine from Target. Best $10 we've ever spent.

You add only a little of the soap and in no time, there's 100s of bubbles.

She loves chasing bubbles.

She has been known to eat the bubbles or try to put the soap in her mouth.

She loves to poke the bubbles.

Afterwhile , there's just so much bubbles, that it gets a little overwhelming even for a girl who loves bubbles.

Time to take a break from the bubbles.

That's when Lexie will pull off her hat and take a break in her chair.

But she doesn't rest for long....before we know it, she's back for more bubbles.

We love our bubble girl!

What is Lexie up to?

She is having fun with her teeth. She loves to bite down on the spoon when she eats and sometimes she doesn't let go.

My school had a book fair this week, so I got Lexie some new books. My feeling is you can never have too many books. I'm so happy that Lexie loves books. Eric said that one day, Lexie went into her room and when he went to check on her, she was sitting on the carpet reading her books.

One of the books was a counting and colors book and it came with this monster. She loved carrying the monster around and kept giving it kisses.

Now that Lexie has figured out how to get into Maxx's box, that's the first place she goes when she comes into our bedroom. Maxx is so sweet because he doesn't mind sharing it with her. She even knows how to take the clothes out of the hamper and she's been known to drag clothes, toys and other things into the box.

Poor Maxx, sometimes Lexie won't let him into his own box!

Valley of the Temples

We finally got to visit Amma and Ampa's grave. We have been trying to go since Easter, but with Lexie and her constant runny nose and this rainy weather, it's been really hard to do things. We finally got a little break. The weather has been nice and sunny and Lexie's nose seems to be on the mend.

We went to put flowers and asked Amma and Ampa to look after Lexie and keep her healthy. Then we drove up to the temples so Lexie could see the fishes. She loved the fishes and the ducks and swans that were running around. Most of all, she loved that she could touch the flowers and plants. She's such a nature lover!

Lexie was so cute. She was on her tippy toes, so that she could get a better look at the fishes.

Once we took her out of the stroller, she was off! I think being in the sun helped her runny nose.

We finally found a spot where Lexie could run around, but there were a lot of holes in the grass and she kept falling. This little girl is a trooper. She never cried, she just picked herself up and kept going.

She would not sit still for us to take a picture of her.

And once she got her hands on some leaves, we were not able to catch her.

Lexie finally stopped because we gave her some cereal to eat.

This is one way to get her to laugh. She loves to be tossed into the air.

Lexie just loves her flowers.

When we were walking on the bridge, Lexie did not want to hold our hands. She only did for a little while because we were pulling her into the air to swing. After that she pushed our hands away and wanted to walk by herself. She is a stubborn little thing!

We hope that Lexie stays healthy this time. We thought she was over her last cold and then it came back a few days later, so we hope that Amma and Ampa watch over her. We want Lexie to have more days like this where she can have fun and not be cooped in the house because she's sick.

Trapped Inside

Since Lexie has a runny nose, she can't go outside to play. What's a girl to do when she's trapped inside? Actually, a lot of things, most of which get her into a lot of trouble. She likes to relax in her room, which gives us some quiet time for about 5 minutes.

"I'll read a book to make mommy happy."

"But it's more fun to climb! Uh-oh, mommy's coming, I better get down!"

Grandpa sent Lexie a package full of new clothes. She had fun trying some on. Eric says she's definitely a girly girl because she loves clothes, just like mommy!

"What happened to my other sock?"

"Where is that sock I've been looking for?"

"Just my luck, it's at the bottom of the hamper."

"I'm tired now, I'll just take a little break. Did I make this mess? Maybe mom will think Maxx did it!"

"I like it in here, I hope Maxx doesn't mind."

We hope that Lexie gets better so she can play outside. It's like our house was hit by hurricane Lexie when she's cooped up in the house too long. It'll be great when she can make a mess outside and not be Ms. Destruction inside.

Playtime

Lexie loves her yard. This was one of the few sunny days we had this week, so we took full advantage of it. Plus, we just got her brand new sandals and we wanted to try them out.

Lexie doesn't always like to wear her hat, but we need to make sure that bald head of hers doesn't get sunburned. She just looks so adorable when she keeps the hat on!

Lexie loves to pull grass. We're hoping that she'll soon learn to tell the difference between weeds and grass and then she can help daddy with his lawn.

Lexie is still a wobbly walker, but she's determined to walk everywhere and will start running if she feels the need.

Even though the sun was out, it was starting to get a little cold, but Lexie still wanted to play.

"I just want to run and have fun! Catch me if you can!"

"Take these leaves, please!!"

Isn't Lexie just so stinkin' cute!

Maxx & Gohan were in the yard too. They were more than happy to take a picture with daddy, while Lexie chose to run away from us when she saw the camera.

"No more pictures, just let me play!"

I took a picture with Gohan since Lexie was being camera shy.

"I said, no more pictures!"

"Okay, maybe just one picture."

"Hey, Maxx, what are you barking about?"

"Gogo, do you see what Maxx is talking about?"

"I still don't see anything!"

"I give up, bye, bye, I'm going home!"

"Okay, you twisted my arm, I'll stay out and play some more!"

Lexie hasn't been able to go out to play because she's got a runny nose AGAIN! She hasn't been happy because she misses her yard, we're hoping the sun is out this coming week and her nose gets better, so she can have some fun.
