A Little Shy

We went to Aunty Jodi's for Mother's Day dinner and Lexie was being shy with everyone. She cried whenever someone wanted to carry her. When we first brought Lexie home, she would go to anyone because she loved to be carried. She has really bonded with us in the past few months and has become our opihi girl. If she sees someone on a regular basis, she'll go to them no problem, but if she doesn't see you often, then it takes a little while for her to warm up.

Everyone wanted to carry her and we think it just got a little ovewhelming for her. She didn't have a chance to explore and be free which is what she loves to do. If you let her run around and get used to her surroundings, she is a lot happier and more willing to go to people she's not used to.

Aunty Dawn got some smiles out of her.

Lexie misses her shopping trips with Grandma.

Aunty Terry knows how to win over Lexie. She knew all of Lexie's favorite songs.

Lexie missed her buddy, Uncle Steven.

We were so amazed at her climbing skills. She has never climbed steps, except at Gymboree which is maybe 3 or 4 steps. She started at the bottom and went up to the 3rd floor and never stopped. It was a little scarier watching her go down the steps. I thought she was going to roll down. Lexie did not want to stop. She kept going up and down. It was neat to watch her thinking of different strategies to go down faster.

  1. just to have that last sentence make a little more sense, lexie was climbing the stairs at her aunty jodi's house. so she started at the bottom floor and climbed the stairs up to the top floor, which is three stories up. she doesn't like to give up once she sets her mind to do something. but thats what you get when you have a little girl that's born in the year of the ox! and i wouldn't have it any other way!
