Summer is in full swing and I'm enjoying every minute of it with Lexie. She has developed such a personality now that she's talking. She's bossy, concerned, sassy, silly, and very loud. She also has a wicked sense of humor. Even though I'm totally exhausted because she's calling for me at 6:30 in the morning and doesn't leave my side until she goes to sleep, I love being a full-time mommy.
Grandpa sent Lexie a Chicago Bulls shirt. Too bad his team didn't make it into the finals.

We went with Eric on a photo shoot. Lexie is so great. She'll sit in her stroller and eat her snacks and watch videos until Eric is done working. When we took her out of the stroller, she ran to the tree because she wanted to take her picture. She posed exactly how Eric had asked the kids he was taking pictures of. She put her leg up against the tree just like the big kids. Lexie always amazes us because she is so observant.

We visited my grandparents' grave to put flowers. There were lots of yellow flowers growing on the ground. They are actually weeds, but Lexie wanted to pick them and she put some in the vase for her amma and ampa.

We wondered if she would talk to my grandparents again. Sure enough, when we were driving away, she said "I love you, amma."

We went shopping at Walmart and Lexie saw this cart and climbed into it. She loved riding it because she thought it was a train. This was the first time, we didn't have to fight with her to stay in the cart.

Lexie is making progress each day with her potty training. She will stay dry for most of the day and goes to the bathroom willingly. She is learning to tell us when she has to go, sometimes it's not soon enough but we think that's a step in the right direction.
As for #2, Lexie still hasn't done the deed in the potty. If I know it's time, I usually put on a pull-up, so I'm not constantly cleaning up her dirty underwear. She can go 3 times in a row. And that's why she is so skinny!!
We're still working on using the public bathrooms. Lexie has been amazing. Since she doesn't like these bathrooms, she has kept herself dry for over 2 hours when we're out. We try to get home quickly when she doesn't go and usually she will run to the potty. We finally got our portable potty and Lexie has practiced using it, so hopefully it will help with her public bathroom phobia on our next outing.
